Stevenage v Rotherham United: Le Fondre is rebuked for petulant response to Millers substitution

RONNIE MOORE has let top scorer Adam Le Fondre know in no uncertain terms that he is the boss, following the sought-after striker's peevish response to being substituted against Wycombe last Saturday.

Le Fondre was shaking his head as he left the field with eight minutes to go at Adams Park, and with the Millers chasing an equaliser against their promotion rivals.

The striker has not scored for five matches and as Moore prepares his team to end their run of three games without a win at Stevenage, Moore said: "He wasn't happy but I don't expect him to come off and show disrespect to players and to the decision I've made. Nobody has a divine right to stay on.

"We were chasing a goal but the way he was playing, he wasn't going to score. I put on Tom Pope for a bit more height, strength and a bit more willingness."

Rotherham have appealed against the red card awarded to midfielder Jason Taylor in last Saturday's defeat at Wycombe, meaning he is available tonight and postponing a potential three-game ban.

Moore has no injury worries aside from long-term defensive absentee Ryan Cresswell.

Mid-table Stevenage have won their last three home games - including the FA Cup giant-killing of Newcastle earlier this month – and have climbed away from the relegation zone.

Boro have doubts over midfielder Stacy Long (calf) and striker Yemi Odubade (back).

Last six games: Stevenage DLLWLW, Millers WWWDLL.

Last time: No previous visit.

Referee: Gl Ward (Surrey).
