Sweet dreams for Guiseley chief

Blue Square North: Guiseley manager Steve Kittrick got his wish – a good night’s sleep – after a 1-0 win over promotion rivals Solihull Moors, at Nethermoor.

Danny Forrest’s goal, struck left-footed after he cut inside 15 minutes from time, was enough to defeat the visitors and leave sixth-placed Guiseley four points behind Moors with two games in hand.

Kittrick had complained of spending a sleepless night after Tuesday ’s 1-1 draw with lowly Stafford Rangers but his wish to sleep like a baby on Saturday was granted as Moors suffered a damaging defeat.

Guiseley face another big test when they visit leaders Alfreton Town tomorrow night.

A goal twelve minutes from time extended Harrogate’s unbeaten run to seven as they drew 1-1 at Stafford Rangers.

Harrogate opened strongly against a Stafford side clearly lacking in confidence.

After four minutes, Ciaran Toner headed King’s corner against the bar, then Picton and King headed over as Harrogate dominated.

Stafford made Harrogate pay when good approach work between Edwards and Clarke, saw Niall Maguire head home the latter’s centre.

The introduction of Bowey and Hardy 10 minutes into the second half helped Harrogate wrest back the initative.

Toner drove over from Armstrong’s centre and Lee Evans did well to block Hardy’s powerful drive.

With time running out, Toner latched on to Bowie’s through ball and beat Evans at his near post to equalise.
