Welcome clean sheet for the Blades custodian on a day when there were positives across the park for the hosts. Made one key save at an important juncture and sturdy all game.

2: Liam Palmer (Sheffield Wednesday)

Worksop lad produced a solid, authoritative and composed performance at the City Ground on a fine collective afternoon for the Owls.

3: James Meredith (Bradford City)

An assertive and energetic display and a buccaneering presence. Set up City’s second against Doncaster.

4: Glenn Loovens (Sheffield Wednesday)

A serene performance alongside Tom Lees and did not put a foot wrong, albeit against a limited Forest side who were outclassed on the day.

5: Sol Bamba (Leeds United)

Showed the finishing touch of a striker to net at Blackburn and produced a dominant showing to help quiet Danny Graham and Tony Watt quiet.

6: Liam Bridcutt (Leeds United)

Dominant in the middle of the park and back to his best at Ewood Park. Combative and in your face and hassled Rovers all game, with engine-room partner Toumani Diagouraga not far behind.

7: Kieran Lee (Sheffield Wednesday)

On a day when the Owls schemers ran the show, Lee was the pick of the bunch and produced a sumptuous performance by the Trent.

8: Dean Hammond (Sheffield United)

The Blades youngsters in Che Adams and Ben Whiteman may have seen their name in lights at the weekend, but the ballast in a sound collective performance was provided by Hammond, the pro’s pro. Nigel Adkins’ verdict on Hammond? ‘Absolutely superb.’

9: Jamie Proctor (Bradford City)

Bullied Donny defence and powered home two meaty headers, not bad to say he had to be put through his paces in a rigorous fitness check before taking his place in the side. Man’s display.

10: Mirco Antenucci (Leeds United)

BOSS MAN: Steve Evans.

A grand old week for the Italian, who plundered four goals in three matches and scored a classy effort in East Lancashire. Leeds will clearly have a big decision to make regarding his future shortly.

11: Danny Ward (Rotherham United)

One of number of players who have seriously stepped up to the plate under Neil Warnock and took the plaudits again following another imposing performance against Derby. Set the ball rolling for a remarkable comeback.

Manager: Steve Evans. (Leeds United)

Looked a dead man walking after the torrid Brighton game a fortnight ago, but proof of the Championship’s fluctuating capacity to surprise has come in the shape of a win triple, including back-to-back away wins at Cardiff and Blackburn.
