HULL CITY striker Abel Hernandez has revealed his hopes of returning to Italy with a '˜big' Serie A in the future.

The 25-year-old is currently doing his best to help Hull regain their top-flight place at the first time of asking, but the £10m former Palermo forward admits that heading back to the continent is on his medium-term horizon.

The Uruguayan told TodoMercatoWeb.es: “My main goal is to arrive in the Premier League with Hull City, then play in European competitions with the Tigers or with a stronger team.

“Then I want to head back to Italy with a big club such as Juventus, Inter or Napoli before finally returning to Palermo, where I felt very good.”

Huddersfield Town have been linked with a move for Sporting Lisbon youngster Ryan Gauld - who burst onto the scene in eye-catching fashion at Dundee United.

The attacking midfielder joined Sporting from the Tannadice outfit in 2014.

Gauld has only made a handful of appearances for the first team, but is rated highly with a move for the Championship a possible option in his development with Huddersfield believed to be keen.

Town were linked with a move for Gauld in the January transfer window.

Leeds United have been linked with Watford defender Tommie Hoban in the emergency loan window - with the club looking to bolster their defensive options in the emergency loan window.

The Premier League side are looking to offload the central defender on loan to gain some first team experience, after a host of injury problems.

Managerless Rotherham United are running the rule over former Crystal Palace winger Jerome Thomas, 32 and ex-Nottingham Forest midfielder Guy Moussi, 31 - with the pair featuring for the club’s reserves yesterday.
