Sheffield United have made a bid for Bradford City striker James Hanson, though it is understood the Bantams will reject the Blades’ first offer.
After United drew 2-2 with Gillingham on Saturday, manager Chris Wilder said: “We have put a bid in, it’s up to Bradford whether they accept that.

Hide Ad“He is still their player, we have put a bid in, if it doesn’t get accepted we will move on.”
Hanson joined City from non-league Guiseley in 2009, and has scored nearly 100 goals in 335 appearances for Stuart McCall’s side.
McCall said following his side’s 1-1 draw with Millwall: “The bid has not been accepted yet.
“There are discussions to be made and I don’t expect the bid to be accepted.”

Hide AdElsewhere, it is understood Middlesbrough have had a bid for Hull City’s Robert Snodgrass rejected, according to reports.
Boro are said to have made a bid of £6m, rising to £8m.
West Ham have also had a previous bid for the Scotland winger rejected.

Following Leeds’ 3-2 derby defeat at Oakwell, Monk said: “I have no idea where that one`s come from. Speculation is speculation. There is no point in even talking about it.”

Robbie Keane, who cost leeds United £12m 16 years ago, has also been linked with a return after leaving Los Angeles Galaxy.
According to reports, Aston Villa are not chasing Barnsley midfielder Conor Hourihane, they also want defender James Bree.
Manchester United, Manchester City, Tottenham, Arsenal, West Ham and Southampton are also said to be monitoring 19-year-old Bree.

Hide AdIn the wake of Barnsley’s 3-2 win over Leeds, head coach Paul Heckingbottom said there was nothing extra to add to the Hourihane speculation.
Heckingbottom said: “Conor Hourihane is a Barnsley player and until a bid gets accepted that’s what he’ll continue to do.
“All we can do is worry about how we want to play and go out there and execute it.”
