Stuart McCall hailed Bradford City's resolute defending after his side recorded just their second clean sheet of the League One campaign in a hard-fought 1-0 derby win over Rotherham United.

Romain Vincelot scored the only goal of the game to hand Bradford the derby honours and move the Bantams up to third place in League One.

McCall said: "I have lots of times, there are lots of ways to win football games. You can be lucky, brilliant or whatever.

"But today, we had to be resolute. Once the teamsheet came through and we knew that the big boy Keiffer Moore was playing, we knew we'd have to defend.

"To be honest, you look at their team, players and squad and they have a lot of players who have played at Championship level. Good players and they were on a good run of form and free-scoring and for us to get a clean sheet was terrific"

"I wasn't best pleased, as you can well imagine. There was confusion as to whose man it is, but I don't think there was any confusion. A header shouldn't happen against us in the centre of goal, so I am disappointed with that.

"Give kudos to Bradford, they defended really well. We had wave upon wave of balls into box."
