The 22-year-old played a starring role in the Wetherby Road outfit’s 3-1 triumph over Notts County, netting his team’s second goal having already helped make their first.

It was Hall’s raking switch-pass from left to right that enabled Ryan Fallowfield to tee-up George Thomson to make it 1-0, before the big centre-half finished off an inviting Thomson free-kick to double the lead on 27 minutes.

“It’s a dream come true to play at Wembley, win at Wembley, score at Wembley,” he said.

“From coming here and signing full-time at the start of the season, it’s mental.

“I talked about us going to win the league, that’s what we set out to do, but to come here in the play-offs and do it the hard way - at Wembley - it’s unbelievable.

“I think it means more to everyone the way it’s gone with Covid-19 and us being back in training for five weeks, training every day, not playing a game at the weekend, getting fit for these play-offs.

“I think it’s really brought everyone together, really nailed down how we actually play, our style of football, and over these last two games we’ve been absolutely brilliant.

“We were deserved winners in the semi and deserved winners in the final, 100 per cent.”
