Wigan Athletic v Hull City - Tigers seek revenge for 8-0 humiliation

Four points from a possible 15 have damaged Hull City’s automatic promotion hopes but goalkeeper Matt Ingram is confident there is not much wrong, and a collective effort can solve it.

Tonight, the Tigers are at Wigan Athletic, where an 8-0 mauling all but confirmed last season’s relegation from the Championship.

“Every team will have a dip in form this season,” argues Ingram. “We need to get out of it and it’s down to us in the dressing room.”

Saturday’s 1-0 defeat to Milton Keynes Dons was the third game running Hull failed to score in, and they have just two goals in six matches in all competitions since winning 4-0 at Portsmouth.

“Defensively, we’re doing well, but going forwards it’s just not quite clicking,” admits Ingram.

“It’s about us as a collective. We’ve got the ability to get the ball into the final third, we just need to put it in the net. We stuck to the game-plan (on Saturday). We got the ball in the final third a lot so I think you look at the game differently if we score two or three of our chances and you’d probably say we performed well.”

Last six games: Wigan Athletic LWLLLD; Hull City LDLDWL
