Will Leeds United raise Oxford's Roofe to Championship?

The 23-year-old starred for Oxford United in a season that brought not only promotion but also a visit to Wembley in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy final.

Head coach Garry Monk has brought in Pep Clotet to Elland Road as his assistant. He is understood to have targeted Clotet the moment his switch to Leeds had been sealed earlier this month.

Former Rotherham United goalkeeper Adam Collin is to sign for League Two Notts County.

The 31-year-old, the Millers’ hero in the 2014 League One play-off final triumph over Leyton Orient, is understood to have undergone a medical at Meadow Lane after agreeing terms with the Magpies following his release at the New York Stadium.

Doncaster Rovers have made Millwall striker John Marquis the club’s seventh summer signing as Darren Ferguson looks to build a squad capable of bouncing back from relegation at the first attempt.

The Lewisham-born forward has signed a two-year deal and will officially join Rovers at the end of this month on a free transfer.

Marquis spent time on loan in League Two with champions Northampton Town and netted six goals in 16 games to help the Cobblers to the title.

Ferguson said: “John has been on our radar for quite a while now; the squad is now starting to take shape. He is a tireless worker who leads the line well and doesn’t give defenders a moment’s rest. He is a good age and we are hoping that his move here can provide him with a new challenge.”

Marquis joins fellow summer arrivals Tommy Rowe, Matty Blair, Ross Etheridge, Mathieu Baudry, Joe Wright and Gary McSheffrey at the Keepmoat Stadium ahead of pre-season training getting under way.
