Wycombe Wanderers v Huddersfield Town: Town chief warns of Wycombe backlash

LEE CLARK insists Huddersfield Town will today take on a very different Wycombe Wanderers from the one they hit for six at the Galpharm Stadium earlier this season.

The Terriers ripped apart the Chairboys to win 6-0 and inflict the club's heaviest defeat since joining the League in 1993.

Since then, however, Gary Waddock, who was in charge for only his fourth game as Wycombe manager when Town ran amok on November 14, has made several changes in an attempt to keep his side in League One.

Clark said: "Wycombe are fighting to stay in this league. It is just as hard as playing a team that is going for promotion as they know that every single one of their players must give everything to get a positive result if they are to stay in League One.

"Gary has made some shrewd signings in terms of the personnel that he has brought in. Their players are fighting hard for each other."

With Colchester having lost at Exeter yesterday, the focus in the race for the play-offs switches to Town, who trail the Essex side by just three points.

Clark added: "If we do our own job correctly, the last eight games will be good for us. We still have two of the top six to play at home and the other teams around us also have tough run-ins."
