Fabio Capello’s men won the big Euro 2012 qualifier at the Millennium Stadium against Wales 2-0, Frank Lampard (pen) and Darren Bent on target in the first 15 minutes.

Sheffield Wednesday earned a 1-1 draw in the relegation six-pointer in League One at Dagenham and Redbridge in the lunchtime kick-off.

Bradford City lost 2-1 to promotion-chasing Shrewsbury Town at Valley Parade in League Two, as their their three-match unbeaten run came to an end.

And York City kept up their play-off push in the Blue Square Bet Premier with a 1-0 win over Histon.
