Northampton 3 York City 0: Wilcox left seething
Olejnik, farmed out to Bootham Crescent from Peterborough until the end of the season, kept out former Barnsley and Chesterfield striker Marc Richards’s second-half penalty and also made fine stops to deny Lawson D’Ath and Ricky Holmes.
But an early goal in each half from Chris Hackett and Brendon Moloney, coupled with substitute Ivan Toney’s 89th-minute strike, did beat Olejnik as struggling York failed to build on the promise shown in their previous outing – a 2-0 home triumph over Tranmere.

Hide AdThe contrast in performances left manager Russ Wilcox seething. “I spoke about the importance of not being a yo-yo team before the match, but to play like that with the same team that did so well against Tranmere is so, so frustrating as a manager and shows why we are down where we are.”
Northampton forged in front after four minutes when Malvind Benning’s attempted header to Olejnik fell way short and handed Hackett the opportunity to find a vacated net from 15 yards.
After former Bradford goalkeeper Matt Duke parried Keith Lowe’s header, the Cobblers doubled their advantage on 48 minutes when Moloney drove home.
Olejnik saved the spot-kick after Benning had barged into the back of Holmes, but Toney added a third with a low eight-yard shot.
