Former Lion is staying with Leeds

FORMER British Lions hooker Andy Titterrell has handed Leeds Carnegie's attempt to avoid relegation a significant boost by agreeing to stay until the end of the season.

Titterrell, 29, initially joined on a three-month deal which was due to expire after Sunday's vital home Guinness Premiership fixture with Wasps.

However, the former Sale, Gloucester and England front row has opted to extend that stay with both parties due to sit down and discuss future plans when the campaign ends.

"We are delighted to have agreed an extension with Andy," said Leeds director of rugby Andy Key.

Titterell added: "It is a massive privilege to continue playing here."
