Friday night Super League: Bulls, Rhinos and Hull all win

IT was a grand night for Yorkshire clubs in Super League on Friday night with Bradford Bulls, Leeds Rhinos and Hull all winning.

While Hull and leeds enjoyed comfortable evenings against Castleford and harlequins respectively, Bradford did things the hard way coming from 20-0 down to edge out Wigan 22-20 at Odsal.

Bradford playmaker Matt Orford made it an unhappy return for his predecessor Paul Deacon as the Bulls ended Wigan's 100 per cent record in dramatic style.

Deacon was given a warm reception on his first appearance at Odsal since his close-season move to Wigan and looked destined to emerge victorious as the visitors raced into a 20-0 interval lead.

But Orford turned the tables in astonishing fashion by scoring two tries and setting up another for half-back partner Brett Kearney before a last-minute try from Orford's former Manly Sea Eagles team-mate Glenn Hall - his first for the club - clinched a 22-20 victory.

Defending Super League champions Leeds led at the interval through tries from Brent Webb (two) and Ryan Hall and ran in nine more in a rampant second-half display to signal their return to form at Headingley with a thumping 62-4 victory.

Four tries in the space of 11 second-half minutes paved the way for Hull to secure a fourth win in five this season as they overpowered Castleford at the KC Stadium.

Richard Agar's men had been locked at 12-12 at the interval against their West Yorkshire rivals but blew the Tigers out of the water after the break as Richard Horne (two), Peter Cusack and Craig Hall all went over the line to secure a 42-22 triumph.

The result means Castleford have now lost all four of their games since their opening-night win at Leeds.

In the evening's other game, Salford lost 24-12 at home to Catalans Dragons.
