Cleckheaton’s Hamilton leads Yorkshire quartet at Royal Cromer

CLECKHEATON’S Olivia Hamilton is in fourth place after two rounds of the English Girls’ Under-16 Amateur championship at Royal Cromer.

She added a 79 to her opening 75 and lies seven back of leader Cloe Frankish (Chart Hills).

Hamilton had two birdies and four bogeys going out, but just one birdie plus two bogeys and a double bogey coming home.

Lightcliffe’s Georgia Holden shares 13th spot, having dipped six shots lower than her first round 82. She carded three birdies and five bogeys on the day.

Hamilton’s club-mate Megan Clarke is tied for 20th having improved by four shots on Tuesday’s 82.

She bounced back from a double bogey at the third with an immediate birdie during an outward 40, shooting 38 on a homeward nine which began with a birdie.

Hickleton’s Nicola Slater (82 83) missed the cut.

In the Under-14 championship, Adel Watt (Cookridge Hall) missed the cut with rounds of 91 and 95.
