Euro championship bronze medal proves just out of England’s reach

HUDDERSFIELD’s Nick Marsh just missed out on a medal as England’s men had to settle for fourth place in the European team championships.

The men lost 4-3 to Sweden in the match to decide the bronze medal.

The gold was won by Scotland, who had edged England 4-3 in the semi-finals.

England also had to settle for fourth place in both the women’s championship having been beaten 5-2 by Spain.

England boys beat Scotland 3-2 to finish fifth in the top flight of their championship while England’s girls lost 4½-½ to Sweden, finishing second in Flight B and 10th overall in their championship.
