Fantasy Golf is back, the game that gives you the chance to pick your favourite players to win prizes.

The fourth season of the popular online game begins at Augusta for the Masters and runs the right the way through to the Dubai World Championship.

The Yorkshire Post Fantasy Golf game is based on your player’s performance in tournaments on the 2012 PGA Tour, European Tour.

Your team will score Fantasy Points based on selected tournaments; fantasy golf tees off at the Masters, on 5th April 2012, and runs to until the Dubai World Championship which ends on the 25th November 2012.

You just need to select 10 golfers from groups 1 - 10 to make up your Fantasy Golf team. Your Fantasy team will then receive Fantasy Points for the real life performance of your selected players.

HOW TO PLAY

Name Your Team

You must provide a unique name for your team. Please note any names deemed inappropriate or offensive will not be allowed and teams will be disqualified and withdrawn from the game.

How to Pick Your Team

Create your Fantasy Golf team from the ‘real life’ players on the European & PGA Tours.

Pick 1 golfer from each of the Tour Categories (Group 1 - Group 10). Golfers in each category are grouped together as they are of similar rank and the categories themselves ascend in order of rank i.e. Golfers in Group 2 are generally of a higher rank than the golfers in Group 3.

You can either manually pick a team using your golfing know-how, or use the ‘Lucky Dip’ option, where the computer picks a team for you.

Choose one player from your 10 golfers be the ‘Captain’ of your team. This player will DOUBLE his game points during the time he remains as Captain for your team.

You can change your captain whenever you want, but only the captain named in your team at 23:59 (UK Time) each Thursday will score points for that weeks tournaments. Any subsequent changes to your captain will not score points unless they are named as captain at the next captain transfer deadline

You can change your Captain by clicking the ‘change captain’ link on your team - you will then be asked to select a different golfer to be your Captain. If no captain is chosen, no player will receive double points!

Important: Free Transfer Window

Up until 23:59 (UK Time) on 5th April 2012 there is a transfer amnesty – before this deadline you can shuffle your fantasy team around to your heart’s content without using your transfers. Transfers made after the transfer window closes will be taken from the transfer allocation.
