Rochelle Morris’s bid for English title ends in quarter-finals
Morris was leading until the 14th hole. Then, in the space of two holes, she went from one up to one down as Keech followed a birdie with a chip-in.
The Yorkshire county player went on to lose by two holes having romped to a 6&5 victory in the first round against Prestbury’s Jae Bowers.

Hide AdMorris, Yorkshire champion in 2014, said: “I had a really good win [in the morning] and played well. I was one under gross [when the match ended at the 12th].)
“In the afternoon my driving just went off a little and it was a bit of a struggle. It was a tight match, we were both playing pretty well but I just fell away at the last couple of holes. Sophie chipped in and had two birdies in a row and I went from one up to one down at the wrong time.”
This is the first time Morris has played in the championship and she added: “It’s been really good, I’ve really enjoyed it.”
She represented Yorkshire in the Northern Counties Match Week last week where she was unbeaten in the singles and won two out of three foursomes.
“I’m quite happy with how my game is going,” she added.
