Yorkshire golf: Hallamshire’s Brown takes halfway lead in North of England Under-16 championship

HALLAMSHIRE’S Barclay Brown leads by three shots after two rounds of the North of England Under-16 open amateur stroke play championship at Heswall GC.

Brown, the Sheffield open amateur champion, shot rounds of 69 and 71 for a 140 aggregate.

His Hallamshire club-mate Alex Fitzpatrick is on 151 (75 76) as is Pannal’s William Eardley (76 75).

One shot further back is Rotherham’s Charlie Daughtrey (75 77) and Joseph Allenby, of Hessle, is on 154 (79 75).

Cleckheaton’s Megan Clarke shot 80 75 and is one shot lower than the remaining Yorkshire player to make the cut, Isaac Turner (Woodsome Hall) who carded 79 77.
