Huddersfield Town v Charlton Athletic: Clark looking at new arrival Lee for boost

League One: LEE CLARK is backing Huddersfield Town to achieve the two points per game average that he believes will be enough to guarantee automatic promotion.

The Terriers have endured a disappointing week with a 4-2 defeat at Peterborough United being followed by Everton running out 5-1 winners in the Carling Cup.

Town today host Charlton Athletic, who like Clark's Town side were knocked out in the play-off semi-finals last season.

Clark said: "If we are going to be successful, we have to try and keep calm and on a level playing field.

"Ultimately, you are judged over 46 games. We are looking to average two points per game to become a top-two team and I believe that, over the season, we will achieve that goal."

New signing Alan Lee is in the squad following his transfer from Crystal Palace and Clark added: "Alan gave everyone a lift when he trained for the first time on Thursday."
