Let’s Dance waltzes into contention with string of impressive performances

Let’s Dance, a yearling bred by Vienna Bayles from Richmond, already looks to have a bright future as an event horse.

His talent was spotted at the Baileys Horse Feeds/ BEF Futurity Eventing Championships held at the Lycetts British Eventing Young Horse Championships at Osberton recently when he received excellent marks.

Let’s Dance had already gained a top score at the BEF Futurity Evaluations in August and went on to take second place in the yearling final at Osberton.

The evaluations aim to identify British bred, young potential sport horses and ponies destined for careers in dressage, eventing, showjumping or endurance competitions.

Let’s Dance is by Lucinda Broad’s advanced eventing thoroughbred stallion, Revolution, and out of Vienna’s homebred mare, Elli, by Ladys Tralee Raj.

Let’s Dance has also been placed in Hunter Breeding and Sports Horse classes this year.

Jan Rogers, head of equine development at the British Equestrian Federation, said: “The Futurity is showing itself to be an assessment system which British breeders value, because it enables them to demonstrate, long before a horse is able to compete, that it has performance potential.”

This year has been a very successful one so far for the members of Bramham Moor Pony Club.

As well as a number of successes at the Pony Club Championships, including a first place for the junior mounted games team, members also did well at the recent Osberton International Horse Trials.

They entered two teams in the Pony Club team showjumping event and had placings in all the classes they entered.

“We were able to secure the most points across the whole day to win the prize of £500 for our branch,” said Helen Hardwick, the club’s new district commissioner.

“The prize money will be a fantastic addition to our fund-raising effort that we are doing at the moment, to buy a puissance wall to add to other much need showjumps we bought in the summer.”

The team members were: India Booth on Bea; Tess Wheldon on George; Jodie Webster on Norman; Molly Robinson on Secret; Charlie Robinson on Dylan; Lauren Dale on Kevin; Sarah Roberts on Buzz; Ellie Edwards on Poppy; Evie Hardwick on Bailey; Emily Reynolds on Zeus; Ellie Jolliffe on Steeley; Lauren Gaunt on Gerry and Lauren Hyde on Brandy.
