Notts County v Rotherham United: Mendy kept waiting by red tape

League two: ROTHERHAM United are still waiting for the Football League to ratify the loan signing of Derby youngster Arnaud Mendy.

Manager Ronnie Moore agreed to sign the teenager before Thursday's transfer deadline and the player has started training with the Millers.

He will not be involved in today's game, however, as the Millers already have five loan signings in their match-day squad – the maximum permitted under League regulations.

Mendy, who joined Derby from French club FC Rouen in summer 2008, has made one first-team appearance for the Rams and also spent a short spell on loan with Grimsby Town.

Full-back Liam Darville has revealed how he made a loan move to the Millers from Leeds United. "I stay in digs in Barnsley and one of the lads, a massive Rotherham fan, heard that Ronnie Moore was looking for a full-back on the radio!" he said.
