Nowell returns as England prepare to adopt a brutal approach Down Under

Victory at AAMI Stadium on Saturday will give Eddie Jones’s grand slam champions an unassailable 2-0 lead after Australia were dispatched in the Brisbane opener last weekend.

Nowell has been restored to the starting XV at the expense of Marland Yarde and the Exeter wing has outlined the approach England will adopt to topple the World Cup finalists.

“This week we’ve spoken a lot about being desperate again, doing anything to get the win and being brutal when we’re out there,” said Nowell.

“We want to be physical like we were last week but also tighten up our defence a bit as well. Australia are a dangerous side with ball in hand. We knew that before we came into the game.”

Nowell was dropped to the bench for the first Test due to being “de-trained” during the course of helping Exeter reach the Premiership final.
