Open door closes on champion Ludwell in play-off
Selby's Ludwell, who claimed the county crown at Willow Valley last week, shot a 71 but then lost in a four-way play-off for the final three places on offer at the next stage.
Lindrick was one of 16 regional qualifying sites used yesterday with the top players at each course progressing to local final qualifying which will be held on Tuesday, June 29, at Fairmont

Hide AdAmateurs led the way at Lindrick, where Liam Bell (Cleethorpes) fired a 68 to top the leaderboard with fellow amateur David Coupland (Boston) a shot behind.
Paul Bradshaw (Boothferry), Michael Ramsden (Bondhay) and Mitchell Hadfield (Worksop) were among the others to qualify with a round of 70.
Eleven players also qualified from Pannal, with former Brabazon Trophy winner Steve Uzzell (Hornsea) among them.
Uzzell carded a 71 at the Harrogate course to finish in a tie for fifth alongside James Sibbles (Hollins Hall) and Joseph Feather (Leeds Golf).

Hide AdHeysham amateur Jack Senior topped the leaderboard with a round of 67, which was two strokes better than Aran Wainwright (Mid Yorkshire).

Ganton this week hosts the British Ladies Open Amateur Championship for the fourth time, and first since 1985.

Hide AdYorkshire ladies champion and Ganton member Sara Garbutt, former British Amateur runner-up Emma Brown (Malton and Norton) and Nikki Dunn (Harrogate) are among the144-strong field that begins the strokeplay qualifying section this morning.
The top 64 players after two rounds will then progress to the matchplay phase.
Wike Ridge won the Leeds Union team championship at Wetherby while Hallowes triumphed in the Sheffield Union seniors fourball at their own course.
