The 37-year-old Canadian forward has signed a one-year deal for the 2020-21 season, with the announcement made via a Sharks Facebook Live stream on Wednesday evening.

The Toronto native and dual passport holder joined the club in 2009 and has won four major pieces of silverware; the BBL Cup (2010,2011), the 2013 BBL Trophy, and the 2016 BBL Playoff final in which he was named the game’s most valuable player.

Sharks general manager Sarah Backovic said: “Mike is part of the fabric here in Sheffield. We are so pleased to have him back. His leadership and example help drive this team. Also, his work within the front office as marketing manager is integral.”

For Tuck, his dual role as player and front-office employee is key to his continued loyalty.

“I still can’t believe I am going into my 12th season as a Shark, it feels like I just arrived yesterday,” he said. “Sheffield is a great place and feels like home. The club, the front office, the fans, the city, have always been warm and welcoming to me. I’m excited to get back going, especially with how things ended last season due to Covid-19.”

Head coach Atiba Lyons said: “It’s great to have Mike back to start building a solid foundation around.”
