Morley’s Dan Cammish gunning for title glory in touring car finale
The Morley driver sits third in the current standings going into tomorrow’s finale at Brands Hatch, but with three races still to go and a total of 67 points up for grabs, Cammish will be going all out to catch and pass current top two of Colin Turkington and Ash Sutton.
If he were to lift the title tomorrow, it would finally put to bed the heartbreak he suffered last year when a mechanical failure saw him crash out on the final lap of the final race at the Kent track when he only needed to complete the lap to be crowned champion.

“This year it’s a bigger points gap but I have to get stuck in and stay positive – it’s not over yet!
“I’m certain it will go right to the last race. It will be fading light and high stakes and it will be down to who can hold their nerve at the end.
“Last year has certainly taught me a thing or two and the heartache of last year has hardened me for this year. I’m really looking forward to it.
“It will be amazing if we can deliver that final result.”

“We’ve got to qualify ahead of our title rivals,” added Cammish. “That’s the aim of the game and we’ll put everything we’ve got into that.
“Qualifying is more important now than ever in BTCC. The cars and drivers are closer now maybe than ever before in its history.
“You have really got to be on your game in qualifying to have any chance of having a strong weekend.

Whatever happens Cammish will be fighting to the very end tomorrow because as he knows all too well – anything can happen in motor racing.
He added: “I’m as well prepared as I can be but I’ll take one race at a time, one step at a time. You can never get ahead of yourself in this game.
“Last year showed it is not over until it is over so you have to keep going until that final flag.”
