Otley enjoy their latest road trip to complete the double over Tigers

Otley returned from Abbeydale with the points after beating hosts Sheffield Tigers 20-11.

After opening an early lead, Otley survived a fightback by Tigers to complete the double over a side they beat 40-16 in October.

Full-back Mark Ireland’s fourth-minute penalty got Otley off the mark, and he added the conversion following a try from winger Nazir Karim.

Tigers hit back through second-row Jamie Harris but winger Harry Hudson’s try put Otley into a 15-5 lead.

Stand-off Tom Outram struck a penalty for Tigers on 41 minutes, but Otley extended their lead with scrum-half Stephen Depledge touching down on 49.

Outram’s second penalty on 70 minutes proved to be the final score.

Hull continued to struggle in their battle to avoid relegation and lost 28-15 at Birmingham Solihull.

Hull were on top for the first half and led 15-7 after 48 minutes, but the hosts battled back with 21 unanswered points.

Centre James Cameron kicked Hull into an early lead and although the home side hit back with flanker Jack Linnett’s fourth-minute try being converted by stand-off Adam Canning, Hull regained the lead with No 8 Ollie Cook scoring on 13 minutes.

Hooker Tom Mumford extended that lead on 45 minutes, Cameron converting to make it 15-7 but it proved Hull’s last points as Birmingham took control.

Second-row Chris Goddard’s 54th minute try was converted by Canning, as was full-back Oscar Heath’s 57th-minute try which put Birmingham 21-15 ahead.

A 67th-minute try from No 8 Steven Leach, converted by Canning, proved enough to give the hosts the win.

Macclesfield utilised their second-half wind advantage and their superior forward power heloped them to a 49-19 win at Harrogate.

Aarin Yorke squeezed through to put Harrogate ahead but Macclesfield second-row Dave Marwick burst throught a ruck for a try converted by Tom Eaton.

Irvine sprinted clear for an opportunist try converted by Joe Rowntree before centre Elliot Brierley crashed over to level.

Irvine’s break led to successive Harrogate drives and Nathan Smith went over for a converted try before Rob Adair was yellow-carded for a technical offence and Michael Finnemore crossed and the conversion levelled the scores.

Winger Matt King scored Macclesfield’s bonus-point fourth try and, after the break, Louis Taylor’s try and two penalties from Eaton extended the lead. Marwick’s second converted try was followed by another from Sam Rodman and Eaton converted.

In National Three North, Bradford & Bingley lost 46-17 at Stockport and, with six games remaining, are locked in a three-way scrap for survival.

It was always going to be a huge task for Henry Paul’s side at the second-placed side, who ran in seven tries to the Bees two.

The Bees were only 22-10 down at the break but Stockport struck immediately after the interval. Captain Brett Mitchell and Richard Tafa scored the Bees’ tries and the other points came from the boot of Richard Scull.
