Pressure on Osman to produce for Stingrays

HULL Stingrays’ player-coach Sylvain Cloutier is expecting more impact from forward Dominic Osman after snapping him up for a second successive season.

The 30-year-old American struggled in the first few months of his debut season in the Elite League, prompting speculation about his future.

But he rallied in the second half of the campaign to finish with 43 points, including 27 goals, in 64 games.

“I expect a lot from Ozzy this season,” said Cloutier. “I will be counting on him to bring some offence and physical play on the forecheck using his speed.

“He has one of the quickest releases around so there is no reason for him not to put up big numbers this season.

“He will be a key player to how much success we will have this season.”

Osman joins Cloutier, Jereme Tendler, Ben Bowns, Chris Sykes, Janis Ozolins, Jason Silverthorn, Shane Lovdahl, Tomas Valecko, Ryan Hand and captain Kurtis Dulle on next season’s roster.
