Rotherham defender Ben Purrington forced on the sidelines

ROTHERHAM UNITED manager Paul Warne has no new injury issues for Saturday's League One Roses trip to Keith Hill's Rochdale - but has confirmed that left-back Ben Purrington is set for a spell on the sidelines.

Purrington, a January arrival from Plymouth Argyle, will be out until November with a hamstring issue, with winger Jon Taylor expected to be missing until the middle of this month with a knee problem after coming off injured in the 5-1 win over Oldham Athletic on September 23.

Warne, who will start Richard O’Donnell in goal at Spotland, with Marek Rodak on international duty, said: “I have got no new issues. I have got Bally (David Ball) coming back.”

On Purrington and Taylor, the Millers chief added: “Purrington has a grade-two hamstring, so he will be out for a long period, I would say another month.

“He (Taylor) got good news back from his scan, so he progressed really quickly in the first couple of days after that because he had that psychological boost.

“I spoke to him on Tuesday and he said he is not progressing as quickly as he wants, but there is no surprise because he would have wanted to play Tuesday night.

“I still think he will be out for another 10 days. He is a fit lad so it won’t take him long to get back up to speed, but it could be another 10 days to two weeks.”
