Round-Up: Sheffield edge past Crossleyans late on
The scoreline failed to do justice to Crossleyans who had fought back well only to subside in the dying embers of the game.
Sheffield got off to a brisk start when captain and No 8 Andrew Kelly crashed over for a try.

Hide AdCrossleyans replied with a penalty from Ed Cockcroft, but Sheffield ran in their second through Joe Cribley, which he converted. Crossleyans pulled back to within two points when James Wainwright finished off a neat move, Cockroft converting.
Cribley opened the second-half scoring with a penalty, but the visitors levelled when Chris Jones touched down for a try which Cockcroft failed to convert.
Sheffield edged to victory through a Cribley penalty and tries from Kelly and Tom White in injury time.
Cleckheaton 39 Old Brodleians 15
Cleckheaton gained the bragging rights with an emphatic five-try performance.

Hide AdIt was the visitors who exerted early pressure before Cleckheaton centre Lee Queeley set up the first try for Martin Woodhead, Iain Gordon converted.
After Brodleians stand-off Dan Wood and Gordon traded penalties, the visitors replied with a try from Rob Jennings, converted by Dan Wood.
James Wilson roundied off excellent work from Paul Turner and Martin Woodhead with a try out wide.
Mark Sergeant finished off a powerful rolling maul, converted by Gordon, and further tries from Ed Chappelow and Steve Worsley were greeted by a consolation from Brod’s Louie Butler.
Wheatley Hills 33 Northern 14

Hide AdWheatley Hills maintained third spot with a hard-fought victory.
They did much of the work in the first half, scoring four tries to secure a bonus point. After the break Northern tightened up and out-scored their hosts, but it was not enough to salvage the win.
Prop Alex Ogilvie touched down and Jack Craswell kicked the conversion, and Wheatley Hills were 12-0 up when flanker Luke Catlin dodged over from a five-metre scrum.
Flanker Ryan Craswell added their third, brother Jack converting, and it was 26-0 lead when Michael Hayward ran the length of the pitch to score a try which Craswell converted.

Hide AdShortly after the break they extended their lead with Tom Buckenham scoring and Craswell converting, before Northern rallied with two tries late on.
Malton & Norton 8 Percy Park 10
Malton and Norton slipped into the bottom half when they were left to salvage a losing bonus point at the Gannock.
Percy Park took the lead with the only score of the first half, a penalty by Marcus Rutter.
From the restart, Percy Park were offside and Teei Piawi landed the resulting penalty, only for the visitors to take control again when John Scott touched down from a scrum and Rutter added the conversion.

Hide AdMalton had the chance to salvage a draw at the death when, after a spell of pressure, a forward drive ended with hooker Alex Whittaker ploughing his way over. Piawi was unlucky to hit the post with his conversion attempt and the final whistle blew.
Team Northumbria 13 Middlesbrough 37
Middlesbrough stayed within a bonus point of leaders Billingham when they ran in six tries to earn a seventh win in nine.
Captain Richard Barker set the ball rolling with an early try and after Peter Wright exhanged penalties with home kicker George Lewis, Boro took control.
From an interception, hooker Richard Horton crashed over and full-back Ross McNeill crossed following a good team effort, Wright converted, but couldn’t add the extras to his score on the stroke of half-time.
