Bulls' woes compounded by Platt's two-game ban

Bradford Bulls centre Michael Platt has been banned for two matches after being found guilty of a dangerous tackle.

Platt was charged following a throw on David Hodgson early in Sunday's 52-6 thrashing by Huddersfield in the Engage Super League.

The 26-year-old will miss games against Crusaders and Catalans Dragons, although the Bulls could yet decide to appeal.

The news is the latest blow for the Bulls, who on Monday learned James Donaldson would miss the rest of the season and Andy Lynch four games due to injury.

Castleford Tigers full-back Ryan McGoldrick has been hit with a one-match suspension for kicking out at Sam Tomkins during the Tigers' 38-22 defeat at Wigan. That rules him out of this weekend's home game against Catalans.

Due to previous records, both players were also fined 300 at a Rugby Football League disciplinary hearing last night.

Hull hooker Danny Houghton has signed a new two-year contract at the KC Stadium. The 21-year-old's previous deal was due to expire this year.

Hull forward Mark O'Meley will miss Friday's home game against Salford after tearing a calf muscle in last Friday's 27-26 win over St Helens.
