Toulouse ensured a few nerves as they cut the deficit as Maguerite completed his hat-trick, plus a Stanislas Robin try, before an Oscar Thomas drop goal ensured victory.

Tries from Matty Wildie, Andy Bostock, Jason Walton and Ashley Handley - plus seven goals from the boot of Michael Knowles - saw Featherstone Rovers battle back to earn a 30-13 win at Swinton Lions.

Andy Thornley ran in two tries for Swinton, who saw Chris Atkin kick two goals and a drop-goal, as the hosts led 7-6 at half-time.

Halifax left Rochdale with two precious Championship points after a 20-6 win at Spotland was settled by a Rob Worrincy touchdown.

The visitors led 8-6 at the break, but pulled clear in the second half, finally clinching the spoils late in the game after Hornets had two players - Ben Moores and Gary Middlehurst - sin binned for separate offences, reducing them to 11 men.

Rochdale went ahead with a Rob Massam try, converted by Lewis Palfrey, before Halifax levelled with a Ed Barber try, Steve Tyrer converting before kicking a penalty.

The visitors stretched their lead when Tyrer claimed Scott Murrell’s cross kick, just moments after Hornets had turned down an easy penalty.

Tyrer added a penalty on 62 minutes and, with Middlehurst dispatched for a wild high tackle and Moores following for persistent offending at the ruck, a rampaging break from Adam Tangata paved the way for Worrincy’s winner.
