Divorty is ready to play it again

halifax: Second-row Ross Divorty will play twice inside 24 hours to try to help his side reach the Northern Rail Cup semi-finals.

The ex-Featherstone Rovers man is in the Wales squad to face France this afternoon but is willing to play for Halifax tomorrow when they entertain Barrow Raiders.

With his side on top of the Championship table, coach Karl Harrison is earmarking a double in his first season back at The Shay.

“It’s been well-documented that we’re a pretty new bunch of players,” he said.

“But we’ve got better week on week and we’ve got some good football in the team. It bears well for the future.

“Halifax fans expect big things, I set really high standards, and we’ve got a core of players who’ve been there before and got the t-shirt. We want to win every game we can.”

Their chances tomorrow are aided by Barrow’s crippling injury problems with the Championship One leaders missing up to 12 players. They will give dual-registration signings Ryan Duffy and Bradley Brennan debuts.
