Dons stay on top after thrashing lowly Stags

Former Castleford winger Richard Owen scored two tries for Dons, with Jason Tali also bagging a brace.

Liam Welham, Zak Braham, Jason Muranka, Aaron Jones-Bishop, Liam Harris and Hakim Miloudi also crossed for the hosts, with Jack Miller booting eight goals.

Second-placed Bradford Bulls also broke the half-century of points as they saw off visiting Coventry Bears 52-6.

On loan Castleford Tigers centre Jy Hitchcox, Liam Johnson and George Flanagan all scored two tries apiece for John Kear’s Bulls.

Former Leeds Rhinos pair Ashley Gibson and Elliott Minchella also dotted down, with Ethan Ryan and Joe Keyes also crossing, with Keyes landing six goals to keep Bulls level on points with the Dons.

Third-placed York City Knights are also on 10 points as they racked up the points in a 66-6 crushing of London Skolars.

Judah Mazive scored a hat-trick of tries for York, with Keiron Moss and Aaron Smith both claiming a pair and Andy Ellis, Sam Scott, Will Oakes and Ronan Dixon completing the rout.

Connor Robinson landed 11 goals for Knights.

Keighley Cougars slumped to a 32-18 defeat away at Oldham.

A nip and tuck first half saw the hosts lead 16-14 at the break, but they cut loose in the second half to inflict a third loss on Keighley.

Brad Nicholson, Josh Tonks and Adam Ryder got the Cougars’ tries, with Benn Hardcastle tagging three goals.

Fifth-placed Hunslet had a 
27-20 win over Workington Town – their fourth win in six matches this term.
