Hat-trick for Handforth in 13-try romp

Keighley Cougars completed a league and cup double over Oxford in emphatic style running in 13 tries in a 70-10 League One victory.

After their win in last week’s iPro Cup, Paul Handforth led the way with a hat-trick of tries yesterday.

There were also doubles for Ritchie Hawkyard, Darren Hawkyard and Vinny Finigan, with other tries coming from Jode Sheriffe, Paul White, Brendon Rawlins and Scott Law.

Handforth converted one try, while Adam Brook added a further eight goals.

Victory saw Keighley made it three wins out of four to start the season in style.

Casey Canterbury and Zack McComb went over for Oxford but they slumped to their fourth defeat.
