Hawkyard and Oaks in Cougars rout

Keighley Cougars stormed to an impressive 60-4 win at South Wales Scorpions on the opening day of the league season.

Ritchie Hawkyard and John Oaks both picked up two tries apiece, in a 11-try victory.

Keighley’s other tries came from Scott Law, Hamish Barnes, Charlie Martin, Brendon Rawlins, Danny Lawton, Adam Brook - who kicked seven conversions - and Aaron Ollett. Paul Handforth also chipped in with a goal.

All the Scorpions had to show was an Ian Newbury try.
