Kear's high hopes for Leaeno arrival

Wakefield Trinity's new signing Charlie Leaeno is due to arrive in the country today with coach John Kear expecting the huge Samoan prop to significantly bolster his squad and make an impact in Engage Super League.

The 18st 13lb and 6ft 3ins Leaeno has been playing for Newtown Jets in the NSW Cup but has also featured for

St George Illawarra and Canterbury Bulldogs in Australia's NRL.

His capture ends Kear's search for a replacement for star Australian signing Shane Tronc, who was released for personal reasons just 11 matches into the season leaving the West Yorkshire club short of front-row firepower.

"Charlie should add some punch to our pack, give me extra options when it comes to rotating the props and also increase competition for places within the side," he said.

"Charlie comes to Wakefield having had experience of playing in the NRL and we have high hopes that he'll be successful for us in the Engage Super League."
