Lawton runs in four tries for Cougars

DANNY Lawton bagged himself four tries as Keighley demolished Bradford Dudley Hill’s dreams of a fourth round Challenge Cup tie.

Gavin Duffy was the first to cross on the back of Paul March’s break, as Keighley began their first-half onslaught.

Jesse Sheriffe then got over and Danny Jones got his 1,000th career points after he converted Lawton’s first of the day.

Jamie Shepherd then went over for another and Lawton then managed to get his second, followed up by Richard Jones (2) and powerhouse Andy Shickell scored to send Cougars 44-0 up at the break.

The second half then seemed like a completely different game as Dudley Hill came out and gave a great account of themselves, with Anthony Huby getting himself a try in reply to Lawton’s hat-trick score.

Keighley managed to extend their lead in the final 10 minutes, with Danny Jones and Lawton getting over against the tiring Dudley Hill players to round things off.
