London Broncos 52 Doncaster 12: Dons have no answer to free-flowing London

Elliot Kear bagged a hat-trick as London Broncos defeated Doncaster 52-12.

The Dons’ tries came from Peter Fox and Mike Emmett but it was London who blasted their way to victory with three tries from Kear, with Ben Hellewell, Jason Walton, Wes Naiqama, Rhys Williams, Jonny Walker and William Barthau also getting in on the act.

Hellewell put London ahead but Fox replied with a converted try to make it 6-6 after 10 minutes.

After a tight further 15 minutes, Kear put London back in front and thereafter the result was never in question.

Walton and Naiqama added two further tries before half-time to bring joy to the home fans at a very sunny Hive stadium.

Welsh winger Williams went over after the break but Naiqama couldn’t add the extras. The Fijian converted eight out of nine conversion chances on Saturday afternoon.

Kear then got in for his second try before Walker piled on the pain for the travelling South Yorkshire club at 40-6.

Emmett grabbed a consolation try after a tricky grubber. David Scott converted well.

Frenchman Barthau grabbed some of the limelight with a smart try on the 76th minute when he broke through the Doncaster defensive line.

But suitably Kear rounded off the scoring in the final minute of the match with his hat-trick try out wide.
