London Skolars 8 Hunslet Hawks 46: Hawks flying high as Skolars suffer defeat

Hunslet Hawks moved to the top of the Co-Operative Championship 1 table with a 46-8 win at London Skolars.

Michael Mark, Danny Grimshaw and John Oakes each grabbed two tries for the visitors with Dave Clayton, Paul March and Wayne McHugh also going over.

Joshua Welsh and Austen Aggrey provided the tries for the Skolars, who have now lost all eight of their league encounters this season.

South Wales went down 20-14 at Swinton.

The teams shared six tries but the hosts' Graham Holroyd slotted over four goals to add to a try.

The visitors twice came close in the closing stages but Swinton held on to register their third win in six league games.

Winger John Gillam scored four tries as Oldham drew level with Championship 1 leaders Blackpool thanks to a 64-10 win over bottom club Gateshead.

Oldham's other tryscorers were Paul O'Connor (two), Mick Fogerty, Lucas Onyango, Chris Clarke, Matt Ashe, Joe Chandler, Neil Roden and Matt Ashe, who also kicked eight goals.

Tom Wilson and Liam Duffy scored tries for Thunder, who trailed 28-0 at half-time.
