TWO Leeds Rhinos players and one each from Castleford Tigers, Huddersfield Giants and Wakefield Trinity have been named in this season’s Betfred Super League Dream Team.

Rhinos’ Challenge Cup winning pair, winger Ash Handley and centre Konrad Hurrell are included for the second successive year. Tigers hooker Paul McShane – a Man of Steel nominee – and Trinity second-rower Kelepi Tanginoa, who recently signed a new four-year deal with the club, are among seven players who make their Dream Team debut.

Man of Steel contenders Aidan Sezer – the Huddersfield scrum-half – and Wigan Warriors full-back Bevan French, who topped the season’s statistics for tackle busts and clean breaks are two of the new faces.

The others making their bow are Salford Red Devils winger Krisnan Inu, who helped his side to the Coral Challenge Cup final and the Warrington Wolves’ pair of centre Toby King, who finished the season top of the offloads charts and prop Mike Cooper.

Along with Handley – Super League’s top try scorer and top metre-maker – and Hurrell, St Helens’ Morgan Knowles is also backing up after featuring in the 2019 Dream Team.

Wigan second-row Liam Farrell, who is also on the Man of Steel shortlist, has been selected for the third time, after making the second-highest number of clean breaks and carries in the competition.

Saints prop Alex Walmsley makes his second appearance in Dream Team, five years after his debut.

The Dewsbury-born Great Britain international, 30, started his career at the town’s Celtic community club before playing for Batley Bulldogs in the Championship and joining Saints in 2013.

Walmsley’s team-mate Jonny Lomax is selected at half-back. He topped the Super League chart for try assists.

The team is based on Man of Steel points awarded after every fixture in the regular Super League season.
