Salford v Hull KR: Hall hoping Robins can build on leads

HULL KR’S Craig Hall says his side will not “die wondering” as they attempt to reach the Challenge Cup quarter-finals.

The Robins are on a four-match losing streak as they head to Super League rivals Salford Red Devils today.

However, they pushed leaders St Helens close last Sunday, leading in the second half before falling away.

They also built up a commanding advantage at home to Salford earlier this season only to lose then, too.

Hall, the versatile player impressing at full-back, said: “We have got into leads and thrown them away.

“It happened against Catalans as well. But the past couple of games we’ve not been going too badly and we did cause Saints plenty of problems.

“We’ll take plenty from that into Saturday. It’s a Cup game. We can’t die wondering. If you do that, you’re out.

“Personally, it’s been alright having a run at full-back where I can hit a few holes and get my hands on the ball a bit more.

“I’m looking forward to getting over to Salford.”

Rovers last reached Wembley in 2015 when they suffered a record-breaking 50-0 loss to Leeds.

“I’d left the club before then and the closest I got was being in the 20-man squad with Hull FC when they got there in 2008,” said Hall, who is back in his second spell with KR.

“I’ve never played there and it’d be brilliant to walk out at Wembley with this club but there’s a lot of work to be done before then.”

Salford have won four of their last five matches but yesterday announced they had sacked in-form back-row Jansin Turgut for an “off-the-field” matter involving “unacceptable” conduct.

Turgut, 23, only joined from Hull FC last August and made 10 appearances this term.
