Tiger Shenton is on the move

CASTLEFORD have confirmed Michael Shenton will leave at the end of the season after the England international turned down a "big" offer to stay at The Jungle.

He will be out of contract and is expected to sign for St Helens but Castleford have moved to usher in a potential long-term replacement for the classy centre by handing exciting youngster Joe Arundel a two-year deal.

"We would have liked to have kept Michael and made him a big offer to stay," said Castleford coach Terry Matterson.

"However, he has made a decision to move on which we respect and we are very grateful for his contribution in what will have been seven seasons with the club."
