VIDEO: Hull KR coach Tim Sheens calls for quick start against Castleford Tigers

It is barely two weeks since the sides last met when rampant Castleford triumphed 42-14 in East Hull.

Daryl Powell’s side were 22-0 ahead after just 18 minutes and though Rovers eventually found their way into the game it was too late.

They meet once more at Wheldon Road tomorrow and Sheens says his club has had good preparation especially with the arrival of Joel Tomkins from Wigan Warriors.

“I think we’ve had a really good week but we were very comfortable getting ready to playing them here - and then they took us apart in that first 25 minutes,” he said.

“We sort of settled after but by then they had a stranglehold on us so we have to go with them early on Sunday. And it’s at home for them as well. They’re playing pretty well given they’ve had some key people out.

“They’ve come to terms with that and brought a few people into handle things so it will be a big game to go win over there.”

Rovers were five points adrift of the top-eight ahead of this round and slipped to 11th after Salford beat Widnes on Thursday night.

Tomkins believes they can afford only one more defeat - possibly even none - if they are to avoid the Qualifiers but Sheens would not be drawn on the permutations.

He said: “We’ve just got to concentrate on getting a win. There’s no targets anymore. I’m not worried too much about things like the table. That’s for speccies to speculate on and bookies to bet on.”

Shaun Lunt and Lee Jewitt return from injury, Tomkins comes into the 19 as well as on-loan St Helens hooker Aaron Smith who was unable to play in the defeat against his parent club last week.

Josh Johnson, Jordan Walne and Joe Cator drop out along with the injured Tommy Lee.
