Caretaker coach Stuart Dickens has pledged to make changes for his final game in charge of Wakefield Trinity Wildcats.

Dickens will coach Wildcats against visitors Leeds Rhinos on Sunday before handing over to Brian Smith, who is due to arrive in England from Australia on Friday.

Wakefield were crushed 56-16 by Castleford Tigers last Sunday and Dickens said: “There will definitely be some changes.

“I told the players after the game last week what we did in the second half wasn’t acceptable.

“We are limited to what we can do due to some players getting injured.

“Jarrod Sammut has hurt his calf in training and he won’t be available, but anybody [else] who didn’t play last week will come into contention.”

Prop Scott Anderson is unavailable after suffering concussion in last weekend’s game and centre Reece Lyne and half-back Jacob Miller both face fitness tests.

Dickens said: “Scott is still feeling the after-effects, so he’s not going to be available to play this week.

“We will check on Reece Lyne later in the week. Jacob Miller got a bit of a knee injury and we’ll check up on him as well.”

Meanwhile, Wildcats forward Kyle Trout has joined Hunslet Hawks on loan until the end of the season.

Hunslet director of rugby Darren Williams said: “The signing of Kyle is a boost to the squad ahead of a key game at Whitehaven on Sunday.

“He is a back-back forward who can also play as a middle unit and the addition of such a high-calibre player is a boost as the season progresses.”
