Wantaway Hodgson to miss Magic Weekend

HUDDERSFIELD Giants captain Brett Hodgson – who is set to quit the club and join Warrington at the end of the season – will miss Murrayfield as a thigh strain has ruled him out for a month.

Also out, for three to four weeks, is hooker Shaun Lunt after he damaged his Achilles in the pre-match warm-up before Sunday's game with Crusaders.

Head coach Nathan Brown said: "Brett's our captain and the reigning Man of Steel so it's clear how important he is and what he brings to the team, but it does offer the opportunity for the rest of the team to step up in what is an important month for us.

"The important thing is how players respond to it, and generally this year we have played well without Brett including a victory over Leeds. So the onus is on the team to step up for the weeks ahead."

The Magic schedule for this weekend is as follows: Saturday – Hull v Harlequins (3.00), Leeds v Wakefield (7.00); Sunday – Wigan v Huddersfield (4.00), St Helens v Hull KR (6.00).
