We have played all season for this game

HUDDERSFIELD Giants’ captain Danny Brough sees no reason why his title-chasing side cannot break Wigan Warriors’ home dominance tomorrow night.

If the Fartowners can defeat opponents who are unbeaten at the DW Stadium in Super League for 15 months, they will appear in their first Grand Final, so the stakes are certainly high.

However, Huddersfield, who won there on the opening day of last season, but were vanquished 57-4 at Wigan in the 2014 play-offs, feel they are readied for the prospect.

Stand-off Brough said: “You don’t play all season not to want this game.

“It is something we definitely want. We will put our bodies on the line and we know it’s a tough ask – they haven’t lost at home for 20 games – but that’s got to end sometime and hopefully we’re the team to do it.

“We’ll do what we’ve done all year – kick long, chase hard.

“We have to work for each other and want it more than anyone else. We have to be the team to do that.”

The 32-year-old was named in the Super League Dream Team earlier this week for the second time in three seasons.

“I was really pleased with that as it’s quite a big thing; it says you’ve been consistent all year,” said Brough, who won Man of Steel in 2013 when Huddersfield finished top but again failed in the play-offs.

“I think I’ve played alright. I’ve had couple of quiet games but that’s to do with the opposition stopping me doing what I do best.

“I have enjoyed it, though, have set up a lot of tries and hopefully now can kick on in that extra last step to get to Old Trafford.”

Brough’s 31 try assists are more than anyone else in Super League this season

Huddersfield welcome back Chris Bailey in place of Daniel Smith and hope to have ex-England prop Eorl Crabtree fit again, too, while Wigan, who have signed Widnes Vikings’ former Castleford Tigers winger Willie Isa for 2016, have named an unchanged 19-man squad.
