Workington 12 Sheffield 42: Fozzard leads Eagles to opening day victory

Matthew Fozzard's brace led the way for Sheffield Eagles as they eased to a 42-12 win at Workington Town.

Mark Aston’s side – who have gone full-time in readiness for the 2016 Championship season – were too dominant for the Cumbrians.

Ex-Hull KR hooker Keal Carlile, Papuan centre Menzie Yere, Adam Neal, Cory Aston and Rob Worrincy were Sheffield’s other try-scorers.

Micheal Knowles impressively converted all seven of the visitors’ scores.

Jamie Doran and Jack Murphy responded for Workington, Carl Forber improving both.
