York City Knights 30 Swinton Lions 36: Late try seals Knights' fate

Wayne Corcoran's try in the final minute ensured a superb victory for Swinton following a dramatic second-half fightback.

York raced into an early lead through Jack Stearman's try but Swinton quickly hit back through Richie Hawkyard.

Sam Reay scored a second try for the visitors before a succession of penalties kept York ahead. Their lead increased further when Danny Wilson went over the line. An eight-point lead at the break was quickly increased for York with a try from Brett Waller. Player-coach Paul Smith then hit back for Swinton before Danny Ratcliffe's try gave York a 14-point lead.

But Swinton came roaring back through tries from Tony Stewart, Andy Isherwood and a second for Smith.

Corcoran then ensured victory after Ian Watson's drive again opened the York defence.
