SkyBet: Huge weekend awaits for Tigers, Leeds and Huddersfield

Recent results have been pretty damaging for Hull City, as their defeat at Portsmouth and wins for Wolves and Wigan have seemingly left them chasing only West Ham as they seek to retain their Premier League status.

However, victory over a tired Fulham is a real possibility as the Cottagers look forward to a Europa League quarter-final tie against German champions Wolfsburg.

Roy Hodgson's side were impressive in patches at Tottenham on

Wednesday, but they faded badly after half-time.

They have won only once on the road in the league this season and if Hull can perform as they did at home to Arsenal then there's no doubt they can pick up the three points. The only problem, then, is the short price of 6-4 about a win for the Tigers.

The key action this weekend takes place in League One, where it promises to be a hugely significant day in the race for promotion.

A win for Norwich over Leeds will see the Canaries home and dry as it will put them 11 points clear with just eight games to play, and if Leeds are anything like as poor as they were against Millwall then that result should be a formality.

United's confidence has been completely drained over a testing two-month period and they have had to call on veteran Paul Dickov in place of the injured Jermaine Beckford.

Meanwhile, Huddersfield can boost their play-off prospects by beating Charlton, who remain in the mix for automatic promotion despite a series of unimpressive performances, winning only three of the last 11 games.

The ultimate beneficiaries, though, could be Millwall, who look to be the second best team in the division. They are 13-8 to be promoted, which will shorten if Leeds lose and they beat bottom-club Stockport.

In the Championship, Sheffield United held on to their hopes of securing a play-off place by avoiding defeat at Cardiff, but they must beat Scunthorpe tomorrow to stay in contention.

Scunthorpe have the worst away defence in the division so there should be some goals in this lunchtime kick-off.

Barnsley and Doncaster are playing for nothing more than pride at Oakwell in a game that looks destined to be a draw, but it is another big day for Sheffield Wednesday as they look to avoid relegation. They are unbeaten in four and can extend that run to five – 3-1 for an away win at Coventry may be worth a small punt.

Bradford have tightened up under the guidance of Peter Taylor and have conceded just one goal in their last four home games. They face a Dagenham side who have drawn their last three away games – two of them 0-0 – and while the obvious selection is a draw, 'Under 2.5 Goals' also stands out at 4-5.

Rotherham go to Notts County, who have Lee Hughes back after a two-match suspension. The Millers, of course, have a deadly striker of their own in Adam Le Fondre and you will not get many opportunities to back League Two's top scorer at 7-4 to find the net in 90 minutes. Rotherham are strong on the road, with Le Fondre's goals (10 in 20 away games) a key factor.
